Campaigning
- Showjumping - Dressage - Eventing -

Horses can be campaigned in any of the Olympic disciplines including Showjumping, Eventing and Dressage. Together Shane and Mattea have over 40 years competition experience and have a great understanding of the preparation, education and training programs which are required for a horse to reach their potential.


Starting Young Horses

The early years of a young horse's career are important to their future development. Shane spent over six years training in Germany learning the classical way of starting a young horse and has bought this knowledge back with him. Mattea has started many young horses over the last seven years and is also available if a lady rider is preferred. At Davidson Equestrian we start all our own horses and the success of our method is shown in our horses' willingness to train and achievements at competitions.



The young horse learns to accept the saddle and bridle without the rider first.



The next step is for the horse to learn to accept the rider in a relaxed manner.



It is important for the young horse to be given time to develop the balance and strength required to carrying the rider.



The horse is then lunged with the rider and introduced to the leg and hand aids before being ridden free.



When aids are established the horse is ridden free.


Sales

Horses are taken on for sale which can benefit owners who are short of time or would prefer the selling process to be completed for them. We offer advertising on our website and can also organise photos and video footage to be available for interested buyers. We are also available to respond to emails and phone calls on the owners behalf.



Lessons

Shane is an EFA accredited coach and has over 15 years experience in coaching riders of all levels of experience in the Dressage and Showjumping disciplines. Lessons are available at the property and at alternate venues. Clinics are held all over Australia - contact us to book your next clinic.
